Pattern
The scarf consists of 2 parts. Straight and waves.
Start from the narrow corner with green yarn and gradually add stitches on one side of the scarf. On the other side, crochet a decorative border.
1.r: ch 4, (2 dc, ch, 3 dc) into 1. ch
2.r.: ch 3, E, ch, dc into 3. ch of previous row turn (turn at the end of every row unless stated differently)
3.r. (ch 3, 2 dc) into 1st dc, ch, E,
4.r.: solid pattern: ch 3, E, ch, dc2tog, dc to the end of the row, 3 dc to the 3rd ch of previous row
5.r.: perforated pattern: (ch 4, 2 dc) into the 1st dc, (ch, skip 1, dc) repeat till the end of the body, ch, E
Repeat r. 4 and r. 5 until the wrap measures 60 cm. Last row is solid row. cut the yarn.
Wavy part
– connect the variegated yarn on the side with the decorative border to the central ch space of the decorative border! (I didn’t do that, but I calculated carefully the pattern so that it turned out nicely on the side with the border – no such complication is necessary)
– By crocheting the waves make sure that the waves are overlapping – the peaks and valleys are on top of each other. You may place markers to the peaks of the waves.
– Be careful to follow the stitch count when adding stitches. It may happen that if you have a valley at the edge, you will add less than you need, and conversely, if you have a hill at the edge, you will add more. Then the scarf will have an uneven wavy edge.
Rows 1 – 5
1.r (variegated yarn – RS) ch 3, E, ch,
– initial valley at the edge: dc2tog, skip 1, dc, skip 1, dc – continue with side up
Repeat:
– the side up of the wave (over 8 stitches): (ch, skip 1, dc) x 4,
– top of the wave: (over 4 stitches) (ch, don’t skip, dc) x 4,
– the side down of the wave (over 8 stitches) (ch, skip 1, dc) x 4,
– valley of the wave: (over 8 stitches) (skip 1, dc) x 4
Repeat the waves until the end of the row. 2 stitches are added at the end of the row.
2.r: (variegated yarn, WS)
At the beginning of the row or in the first repeat add 2 stitches.
Repeat:
– side of the wave: 8 dc
– top of the wave: (ch, don’t skip, dc) x 4,
– side of the wave: 8 dc,
– valley of the wave: (skip 1, dc) x 4
Last valley in the row at the edge: skip 1, dc, skip 1,
dc2tog, ch, E
3.r: as 1.r.
4.r. as 2.r.
5.r. as 1.r.
Rows 6 – 7 – divider
6.r. (green yarn – crochet only the body of the scarf – not the E, RS). Connect the yarn to the ch space between the body at the E: (ch 3, dc) = dc2 tog, dc to every stitch till the end of the body, 3 dc to the last stitch, cut the yarn
7.r: (variegated yarn, WS): take the loop from safety pin, fpsc around all stitches of the body, ch, E
Repeat rows 1-7 of the wavy pattern as many times as you wish or until you have yarn.
Last row: fans: RS. Connect the yarn with a ss to the first fpsc, skip 2, (F, skip 2, sc) repeat to the end of the row.
Cut the yarn sew in the ends.
