Trianglular shawl in beige and tyrkys shades. Shawl is crochetedfrom the middle to edges. Firstly one wing and then second wing. On upprer and lower part an edge is crocheted. In the body of the shawl at one side stitches are reduces. Work is progressing quickly, as the number of stitches is being reduced.

Stitches (US terms):

Ch – chain

Sc – single crochet

Dc – double crochet

Dc2tog – dc 2 together

Dc3tog – dc 3 together

V – (dc, ch, dc) to one stitch

W – (2 dc, ch, 2 dc) into one stitch

E – edge (2dc, ch1, 2 dc) to the ch space of previous row E

Ss – slip stitch

P – picot – ch 3, ss into 2 front loops of sc below

 

 

Pattern

Start in the middle of the shawl. At the end of the row turn the work unless stated differently. At the beginning and end of every row  an edge is crocheted. On one side stitches are reduced –reduction of 1 and 2 stitches is alternating. Reduce stitches also in pattern – ch is also a stitch!

V and W stitches are crocheted one over another!

Firstly  the middle part is done – row 1 and 2 and mirrorwise A1 and A2

Start from one inner or outer part of the cake. (I started from the lightest color) – ch 149.

  1. Middle part

1.r.: (3 ch, dc, ch, 2 dc) to 149th ch, ch, skip 3, 2 dc, skip 2, (V2, skip 4) – repeat till the end of the row

2.r.: 3 ch, E, ch, (V to W ch space, 2 ch) repeat till the last W, ch, 2 dc to 2 dc of previous row, ch, E, cut the yarn.

A1: attach end of cut yarn to the to the 1 ch  (of the initial 149 ch), (3 ch, dc, ch, 2 dc) to the first stitch, skip 2, (skip 2, V2, skip 2) repeat till the end of the row, 2 dc, skip 3, ch, E

A2: 3 ch, E, ch, 2 dc into 2 dc of previous row, (ch, V into W ch space, ch) repeat till the end of the row, E, cut the yarn.

 

2. Part 1

Start with the yarn from different end of the cake.

Attach the yarn with a ss to the ch space of E at the beginning of row 2

3.r.: (3 ch, dc, ch, 2 dc), ch, skip ch, dc to every stitch in the body of the shawl, ch, E

Note.: I did 2 rows of dc, you can do or not.

4.r.: 3 ch, E, ch, 2 dc, skip 2, (W, skip 4) repeat till 2 stitches are  left  in the body of the shawl, dc2tog = reduced by 1, ch, E,

5.r.: 3 ch, E, ch, dc3tog = reduced by 2, (ch, V to W, ch) repeat till 3 stitches are left in the body of the shawl,  2 dc, ch, E

6.r: 3 ch, E, ch, 2 dc to 2 dc, (ch, V, ch) repeat till 2 stitches are left in the body of the shawl, dc2tog = reduced by 1, ch, E

7.r: 3 ch, E, dc3tog = reduced by 2, dc to every stitch of the body,  ch, E

Repeat rows 4 – 7 until approx. 12 stitches are left in the body.

The last rows continue wit just solid pattern from dc – please see the chart.

Cut the yarn and continue with the oppisit wing.

 

3. Part 2

Continue with the yarn as you have finished the part 1. Attach it to the ch space of the edge at the beginning of row A2

A3: (3 ch, dc, ch, 2 dc), ch, skip ch, dc to every stitch in the body of the shawl, ch, E

Note.: I did 2 rows of dc, you can do or not.

A4.r.: 3 ch, E, ch, 2 dc, skip 2, (W, skip 4) repeat till 2 stitches are  left  in the body of the shawl, dc2tog = reduced by 1, ch, E,

A5.r.: 3 ch, E, ch, dc3tog = reduced by 2, (ch, V to W, ch) repeat till 3 stitches are left in the body of the shawl,  2 dc, ch, E

A6.r: 3 ch, E, ch, 2 dc to 2 dc, (ch, V, ch) repeat till 2 stitches are left in the body of the shawl, dc2tog = reduced by 1, ch, E

A7.r: 3 ch, E, dc3tog = reduced by 2, dc to every stitch of the body,  ch, E

Repeat rows 4 – 7 until approx. 12 stitches are left in the body.

Sew in the ends and attach tassels to the dawn middle part and to the side peaks.
