A nice blanket must be accompanied by one or two pillows. The pillows can be placed alone or with a blanket. The front part of the pillow is crocheted, and it is then sewn by hand to the finished cover bought in textile store.                                                                                                                                                                                    .

Square (make 8)

Start with a magic ring or with 4ch closed in a circle (furry yarn))

1.r.: ch2, 13 dc, join between ch2 and first dc with a ss. (14 dc)

2.r.: All dc-s  are made in the space between dc-s of previous row.  Ch2 (=1. dc)  Regularly add 14 dc  – join as above. (28 dc)

3.r. (white). Squaring row.

Calculation: there are 28 stitches : 4 = 7 stitches. There will be 6 stitches on side + 1 stitch for a corner. Attach white yarn. Crochet into BL:

Initial corner (2ch,dc, 2ch, 2dc), /in the next stitch (dc, hdc), hdc, 2sc, hdc, in the next stitch (hdc, dc), corner (2dc, 2ch, 2dc)/ x 3, in the next stitch (dc, hdc), hdc, 2sc, hdc, in the next stitch (hdc, dc), join with a ss to first tr. Ss to the corner space (12 stitches on side)

4.r. (white): initial corner (2ch, dc, 2ch, 2 dc), /skip 1 stitch, 11dc, corner (2dc, 2ch, 2 dc)/ x 3, skip 1 stitch, 11dc,  join with a ss to first dc. Ss to the corner space  (15 dc on side)

5.r.: (white) Initial corner: (3ch, sc), ch, skip 1, sc, ch, skip 1 sc, ch…….. continue to the end of the side, corner (sc, ch2, sc), repeat on all sides and corners finish the row with a ss to the first corner space. (17 stitches on side)

6.r.: (furry yarn) Attach the furry yarn to the corner. Repeat row 5, sc are made over the row 5 to free spaces of row 4. Corners are crocheted to row 5 corner spaces. (19 stitches on side)

7.r.: (white). Attach the yarn to the corner space. Initial corner (3ch, sc), /(sc, dc from RS to free sc of row 5 – the dc will lay on RS) x 9, sc, corner (sc, 2ch, sc)/ x 3, /(sc, dc from RS to free sc of row 7 – the dc will lay on RS) x 13, sc, connect the row with a ss to 1st corner space. (21 stitches on side)

8.r. (white) ): initial corner (2ch, dc, 2ch, 2 dc), /21dc, corner (2dc, 2ch, 2 dc)/ x 3, 19 dc,  join with a ss to first dc. Ss to the corner space  (25 dc on side)

Cut the yarn, finish with invisible join to the first dc. Sew in the threads. You may block the squares to have them flat and equal. Read more on web or check my post on blocking here.

Finishing

Place the squares flatly as you wish to have them in the blanket.

Sew or crochet them together in one direction and then in other direction.

I crocheted them together with ss to the BL. When I held 2 squares back-to back BLs are: 2nd loop on the square near to you, 1st loop of the farer square.

Ss to corner ch, (25 ss to sc, ss to corner ch, ch2, ss to corner ch) repeat to join all squares in row. Do not twist the squares.

Edge

1.r.(white): Attach the yarn to the corner space. Initial corner (3ch, sc), crochet sc to BL, corners in ch spaces: (sc, 2ch, sc), between the squares: hdc to the corner space, hdc to the join, hdc to next corner space, finish the row with a ss to first corner space.

2.r. (white) Initial corner (2ch, dc, 2ch, 2 dc), corners (2dc, 2ch, 2dc) all other stitches: dc. Finish the row with a ss to the first dc, ss to the corner space

3.r. (white) – as row 5 of the square

4.r. (furry) – as row 6 of the square

Finish the edge with invisible stitch, sew in the threads.

Attach the crocheted part to the finished pillowcase with pin needles,  and sew the crocheted piece by hand to the pillowcase with a standard sewing needle and thread
