Asymmetrical triangular crocheted shawl. On 2  edges there is a lace border formed by flowers. The shawl is crocheted from the narrow edge and stitches are added on one side.                                                                                                    .

Dimension: 150 x 100 cm

Material: cake yarn Duhova Fantazie Nr. 5436 (Vlnika) 200 g = 800 m, 50 g Yarnart flowers unicolor nr. 764 (50 g = 200 m) or 1000 m of any other cake yarn 50% cotton, 50% acrilic

Hook: 3 mm

Intermediate

Used sstitches (US terms)

Ch – chain

Sc – single crochet

Dc – double crochet

Ss – slip stitch

Edc – extended double crochet

Esc – extended single crochet

P – pikot (after finishing the sc, 3 ch, ss to the 2 front loops of sc underneath)

Pattern notes

Start in the narrow edge. After finishing the yarn ball, you may continute with similar colour until the yarn is available or until desired length of the shawl. I used 800 m cake + 50 g unicolor and I have 2 meters left. F

Add repeatedly 1 and 2 stitches on one edge (every 2 rows added 3 stitches).

Rows in the body of the shawl are full dc or perforated rows of dc.

 

Pattern

Base rows:

1.r: 4 ch, 3 dc to 4th ch, turn

2.r: 3 ch, dc to first stitch, 2 dc, to the side (to ch3 space from previous row) crochet the flower: 7 dc to the ch3 space, dc to 1st ch of the work, turn

3.r: 3ch, dc to the first stitch, Flower: (ch, dc to dc) x 7, ch, straight body part: dc to the end, 2 dc to the 3rd ch of previous row, turn

4.r: 3ch, 2 dc to the first dc, straight body part: dc to the end, flower: (ch2, dc to dc) x 7, 2 dc to last stitch, turn

5.r: 2sc, flower: (2 sc to ch2 space, sc to dc, P) x 7, 2 sc to ch2 space, ch, straight body part: dc to the end, 2 dc to the 3rd ch of previous row, turn

 

Repeating rows:

6.r: 3ch, 2 dc to the first stitch, dc to the end, turn,

7.r: 3 ch, dc to the end, 3 dc to the las stitch, turn

8.r: as 6.r.

9.r: 3 ch, dc to first dc (center of the flower), (ch, skip1, dc) – till row end,  2 stitches into the last stitch (it will be either 2 dc or ch and dc)

10.r: 3 ch, 2 dc to the first stitch, body part: sc to dc and dc to the ch space till the end,

11.r.: 3 ch, esc to the r-3 row, turn, (ch, dc to dc) x 6, ch, body part: dc to the first dc and to all dc to the end, 2 dc to the last one (3rd ch from previous row), turn,

12.r.: body part: 3 ch, 2 dc to the first stitch, , dc to every dc, flower: (2 ch, dc to dc) x 7, 2 ch, connect with a ss to the r-5 row below, turn

13.r.: (2sc to the ch space, sc to sc, P over sc) x 7, 2 sc to the las ch space, ch, body: dc to the first dc and to all dc to the end, 2 dc to the last one (3rd ch from previous row), turn,

Repeat rows 6-13 11 more times, repeat rows 6-9.

 

Repeating rows with holes after every 17 dc

Start of vertical holes in the body part. The vertical holes will form the center of flowers of the upper border of thw shawl.

10a r: 3 ch, 2 dc to the first stitch, dc to dc and ch spaces as following: from the flowers part count the nr of stitchs and placement of the holes. 8 ch spaces fill with the dc, 9th left free (crochet ch1) flower: 7 dc to the firsd dc of previous row, connect with a ss to r.-2 row, do not turn

11a-13a and 6a-8a – as rows 11-13 and 6-8, continue with vertical holes.

Repeat until you have desired nr. of vertical perforated lines

Finish with rows 6a-8a.

 

Flowers on upper part

Edge flower

Base row: center of the flower: ch3, ss to the 2nd dc, ss to 3rd dc, ss to 5th dc, turn

1.r: 11 dc to the center of the flower, connect with a ss to the respective row of the edge, turn

2.r: (ch, dc to dc) x 11, ch, connest wit a ss to 2.nd ch, ss to the next stitch, ss to the next stitch, turn

3.r: (ch2, dc to dc) x 11, ch2, connect with a ss to the respective row of the edge, turn,

4.r: (2sc to the ch space, sc to sc, P over the sc) x 11, 2 sc to the ch space, connect with ss to the 2nd ch

Intermediate part

Move to the next center of floweer with help of slip stitches. To make the edge firm, make the ss at least once over 2 dc within one flower. When you are with help of the ss in the center, make ss to the next dc, skip 1 dc, ss to the next dc, turn

Flower on upper part of the shawl

1.r: 7 dc to the center, connect with a ss to respective stitch, do not turn

2.r: 3 ch, esc to respective ch on the edge, turn, (ch, dc to dc) x 6, ch connect wit a ss to respective stitch on the edge, turn

3.r: ss ss to the edge, (2 ch, ds to ds)x 7, 2ch connect wit a ss to respective stitch on the edge,  turn

4.r: (sc to the ch space, sc to dc, P over sc) x 7, 2 sc to the ch space, connect wit a ss to respective stitch on the edge

Repeat the intermediate parts and flowers over the whole upper edge.
